Community Code of Conduct

The Oxford Buddhist Centre seeks to create a welcoming and respectful space for meditation, learning, and community. This code of conduct helps ensure that everyone who visits or participates in activities feels safe and supported.

Respect and Kindness

All participants are expected to treat others with respect, kindness, and consideration. Differences of background, beliefs, and experience are valued within our community.

Inclusive Environment

We aim to create an environment free from discrimination, harassment, or intimidation.

Mindful Communication

We encourage open and thoughtful communication that reflects the Buddhist principles of mindfulness, compassion, and ethical speech.

Participation

Participants are expected to:

  • Respect teachers, volunteers, and organisers
  • Follow guidance during classes or retreats
  • Support a peaceful and supportive environment
  • Respect the shared spaces of the centre

Addressing Concerns

If behaviour arises that affects the wellbeing of others, the centre team may intervene to address the situation and maintain a respectful environment.
