Support

Supporting the monastery through generosity, service, and kindness.

The Oxford Buddhist Society is sustained through the kindness and generosity of the community. In the spirit of dāna, all teachings, meditation sessions, and spiritual guidance are offered freely, without charge. Support from the community helps care for the resident monk, maintain the residence used for practice, organise meditation sessions and public events, and gradually work towards the aspiration of establishing a dedicated Theravāda monastery in the future. Every offering, whether through giving, service, or participation, helps sustain this work and allows the teachings of the Buddha to remain accessible to everyone.

Ways to Support

Donation Information

All offerings of support are entirely voluntary and are received in the spirit of generosity. They help sustain the Society’s charitable work, including:

Maintaining this small monastic residence as a shared sanctuary for study, reflection, and practice;

Gradually planning and saving towards the establishment of a dedicated Theravāda Buddhist monastery for the long-term well-being of the wider community.

We do not charge for Dhamma teachings, mindfulness meditation sessions, or spiritual guidance. These are offered freely, in keeping with the ancient tradition of the Dhamma being shared without price. If you feel inspired to give, your support is a simple and beautiful act of dāna (generosity). It enables this work to continue and flourish for the benefit of many in the days and years to come. Should you wish to make an offering, please see below for the ways in which you can support us.
